Recently, my boss texted me to notify me about a promo event I’d need to attend at the exhibition center. Normally, these events involve handing out flyers and standing out as a foreigner, but this time was different.
When I met the school’s principal outside the huge complex, she informed me that I needed to go on stage and give a quick demonstration of one of our typical classes with some kindergarten kids.
I expected a small crowd for this simple task. However, when I stepped inside, I was stunned to see hundreds of people gathered around the stage, along with TV cameras on cranes and grand performances.
