We’ve discussed the crumbling ancient ruins, the flavorful foods, and the incredibly hospitable people. Now, let’s explore some landscapes you probably never thought existed in the Middle East. When people think of this region, they usually picture endless dry deserts. While that’s partly true, there are also lush, green mountains, oases set within sand dunes, ancient forests, and salty seas.
Some of our favorite landscapes from our trip through the Middle East include hiking over the Valley Of The Kings for aerial views of the Hatsheput Temple, wading through a river, and climbing a waterfall at Wadi Mujib. We’ve trekked through some of the oldest forests in the world and floated like a cork in the Dead Sea. We’ve sand-boarded in the Great Sand Sea and enjoyed countless sunsets from our felucca boat on the Nile River. The Middle East offers a stunning variety of landscapes just waiting for adventurous travelers to explore. So, what are you waiting for? Get out there!
