A Culinary Journey: Top 15 Restaurants to Experience in Limassol, Cyprus, 2023

What’s great about dining in Limassol is the variety of cuisines available. While the local cuisine is a highlight, you can also find fantastic Asian and Italian restaurants. It’s truly a paradise for food lovers.

During my three months in this beautiful coastal city, I fell in love with the friendly locals, the relaxed lifestyle, and, of course, the delicious Cypriot food. I’m eager to return.

If you’re wondering where to eat in Limassol, I’ve put together a list of my top 15 restaurants. You won’t be disappointed—with such incredible food on offer, it’s a fantastic culinary experience.

After exploring many restaurants over three months, I’ve narrowed down my favorites based on food quality, service, location, value, and customer reviews.

Pier One stands out for its location on an elevated pier above the sea, offering stunning ocean views. It’s one of the best seaside dining spots in Limassol. The breakfast menu is served until 12:30 pm and includes options like French brioche toast, avocado with poached eggs, and my favorite, scrambled eggs, which costs around €9. They also offer sushi, burgers, salads, and pasta. Due to its popularity, especially for the view, booking a table by the windows in advance is a good idea.

Epsilon, located in Limassol Marina, boasts an interesting “international fusion” menu with a great selection of fresh sushi, fish, pasta, and salad dishes. The weekend brunch is a treat, and their Eggs Menu is a must-try. With its beautiful veranda and cozy evening interior, it’s an ideal spot for a romantic dinner. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and during peak season.

Forsos Taverna in Mouttagiaka is perfect for traditional cuisine. Although a bit out of the way, it’s worth the visit. Inside, you’ll find trendy interiors and a stunning outdoor terrace. The mixed meze is a highlight, featuring sheftalia, souvlaki, and Cypriot rice, among other dishes. With lower prices than tourist areas but high-quality food, it’s a great value at around €20 for a meze.

Nearby, Taverna Yialousa offers a more traditional feel with tartan tablecloths under grapevines. Sharing a variety of plates like the locals is a great way to sample everything, including the excellent halloumi ravioli. Expect to spend around €20 per person for a group.

Puesta in Agios Tychon is famous for its prime beachside location, incredible oyster selection, and delicious seafood. Although pricier, the al fresco dining experience under the stars is worth it. Booking in advance is necessary due to its high demand.

Taverna Kissos, also in the tourist area, may not have seafront views but offers a charming atmosphere with greenery and cobblestones. The fish meze and moussaka are highly recommended.

For a budget-friendly option, Aristos & Kikis Kebab House serves large portions of fresh, tasty food quickly. With prices under €10, it’s perfect for a relaxing bite after the beach or for lunch. The chicken or pork souvlaki and halloumi are top picks.

Syrian Restaurant offers a Middle Eastern twist on meze, served in a setting complete with an extravagant frontage and romantic outdoor seating under vine leaves. The meze here costs around €18-20 and includes a variety of delicious small dishes.

In the Old Town, Meze Taverna is a gem popular with locals and tourists alike. Their fish meze is exceptional, featuring around 10 dishes of salads, dips, and grilled seafood. Booking in advance is wise due to its small size.

Dionysus Mansion in the Old Town blends authentic cuisine with fine dining in a lovely garden setting. The menu includes delicious dishes like stuffed vine leaves, tuna steaks, and beef cheeks. It’s perfect for a special occasion, but reservations are recommended.

Chesters, a modern pub that has grown over the years, offers a varied menu with salads, pizzas, grilled meats, and more. The Mongolian pork chop is a standout dish. It’s a great spot for groups or families, with a lively atmosphere and multiple floors.

That’s Amore is a popular Italian spot with a range of seasonal specials and unique dishes. The ravioli and vegetarian options are excellent—try the swordfish if it’s on the specials menu. Given its intimate size, booking ahead is essential.

Pepperoni Pizza excels with over 30 pizza varieties and other Italian dishes, including healthy options. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere with a play area for kids makes it a great choice. It’s advisable to book ahead on weekends or during peak season.

Crispy Duck offers affordable and delicious Chinese and Japanese food in the center of Limassol. Recommended dishes include beef noodles, Beijing duck, and crispy duck rolls. Prices are around €8 for a main course.

Ha Noi is the go-to for Vietnamese cuisine, located on the main beach road. The Pho Bo, sweet and sour shrimp, and pad thai are particularly good. The service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable.

With such a diverse range of dining options, Limassol is a fantastic destination for food lovers of all kinds. Enjoy exploring the culinary delights during your visit!
